I think we’re finally “urban”. For the first time today we actually ran to catch a train – not only that, we knew it was the one we needed and we made it. The trains here are great – very comfortable and clean for the most part. You buy an all day pass and swipe it to get through the turnstiles to get onto the platform. You have to remember to keep the card, though, because you have to swipe to get OUT of the station as well.
The system here is integrated; thus, your day pass (or week or month, depending on what you’ve bought) will get you on any of the public transit – trolleys, busses, etc. It says you’re supposed to validate your ticket when you get on the trolley by sliding it into the little reader, but I noticed that most people didn’t bother.
