Rochford has figured out how to sell wine if you aren’t a big company. They hold concerts on site, sell wine at the concerts (along with food and other stuff), and while you’re there, they’ll offer free tickets to the next concert if you’ll sign up to buy a case of wine and charge it right then.
Pretty sharp, huh?
There was supposed to be a concert of a band called “Simply Red” there this afternoon. We were going to have VIP passes for our tour, get to see the setup, etc. Got word as we arrived that the concert had been cancelled because of the fires. All those port-o-potties set out for nothing.
We had lunch here. It was great – then again, anything with all that wine would have been great. But it was very good.
They had an observation tower, and we could see the smoke from it. You access it from a very steep, vary narrow spiral staircase. This after all that wine tasting. I could just feel the liability hangin’ in the air.
