We didn’t do a lot the first night. Between unpacking and getting settled in, we took a little nap in the afternoon (always a good vacation activity) and then went for a walk – I’ve lost count on distances with my pedometer, but I think it was about 3 miles. We went down to the Opera House at night and took some pics. It is truly an amazing structure that the pics don’t do justice. It took 14 years to build, has over 1,000 rooms (some of which are odd shaped because of the unique architecture). We looked into the possibility of going to the Opera there last night but it was sold out. After all, it’s kind of a shame to come all this way and NOT go to a show there. They also offer “behind the scenes” tours during the day and we want to catch one of those.
